Know Your Bible
KYB - KNOW YOUR BIBLE STUDY GUIDES

KYB Bible study guides are based on Books of the Bible, or sometimes on Bible characters.

We promote KYB as an excellent method of Bible study. Women are encouraged to conduct KYB groups according to the Guidelines provided. Those wishing to use KYB Bible study guides may obtain application forms and sign our Statement of Beliefs if they wish their group to be affiliated with CWCI.

Alternatively, studies may be ordered by ministries, denominational groups and individuals who wish to use KYB material without affiliation to CWCI.

Whilst the studies are designed with women in mind, the teaching and KYB method of studying the Bible is also suitable for men. Enquiries from men wishing to use KYB material are welcome.

Know Your Bible studies have been enjoyed by many groups over many years. Around the world there are more than 2500 registered groups using our KYB material and method of Bible Study.

KYB IN USA
Howdy, from Burley, Idaho, USA.

I'm grateful to be the leader of a women's Bible Study that has around 10 ladies. We have gone through 13 of the KYB Studies since 2006. I first learned about KYB when I attended my first CWCI Retreat in 2006. Since then I've been able to attend two other retreats and in 2009 my mother joined in at the Willow Park - Eastern Beach Retreat in Auckland. "Wasn't it marvellous"!?

With pleasure I share that the women in my group have developed a very strong bond through the years. Of course, Christ gets the credit for the intimate relationships we have developed, yet the studies of KYB are part of the reason for our closeness. Studying God's Word together - how can you not grow in intimacy with other women. We highly recommend KYB Studies for they share the message of God's Word.

Some of the reasons our group prefers KYB Studies are:

- The questions are simple and concise. One can see that the answers are truths from God's Word or opinions on the subject. It is enlightening to share our different thoughts and sentiments. God shows us different ideas depending on what is going on in our lives.

- We appreciate the fact that the author does not state her opinion, but is guiding us into developing our own.

- The lessons do not take up too much time - or - you can dig as deep as you prefer. Some enjoy more in-depth studies and others prefer less time consuming lessons.

- Being from a small town (cowboy country actually & potatoes of course) it is particularly delightful to be apart of other Christians from the other side of the world. We even enjoy the spellings and phrases that are different than our local culture.

How delightful it would be if our group could journey down to NZ to attend your next retreat, but that is highly unlikely. However we are glad to know that one day we will meet.

We are all very grateful to CWCI, especially the NZ branch for helping us grow in God's Word and go deeper into our relationship with Jesus Christ. We are yet another group that proves that CWCI does reach out internationally to share the Word of God.

In His Love, Angela Gloria

KYB OUTREACH TOUR TO FIJI MAY 2010
Gill Crampton, Lorraine Harvey and Sue Reeve report....

Above: Sue, Jiu, Gill, Nunia & Lorraine at the launch in Suva. We were garlanded with sulus which have Bible verses printed on them

What a tremendous privilege to be able to visit with the women in Fiji during our recent tour. We were able to meet with many different women during the 10 day visit, primarily to introduce the new Fijian translations of the KYB studies of the books of Ruth and James.... which included speaking at various KYB gatherings, the monthly Power of Prayer meeting in Suva, visiting the Women's Prison in Suva, taking Fiji Hindi New Testaments which we purchased from the Bible Society to groups in Sigatoka and Nadi (thanks to the donations from the Levin KYB ladies), and spending the weekend at a women's camp in Sabeto Valley (just out of Nadi)

What a joy to see and hear the many testimonies of those who have studied the Word of God using KYB studies for many years!

We wished you could all be there to share with us or that we could bring them all here to share with you!!

KYB - ALIVE AND WELL IN FIJI!
God has used His Word to change lives through KYB in Fiji......

My name is Senikau Mere Takape. I live in Qauia, Lami, Suva. I am 56 years old and a housewife. I have six children, three girls and three boys. Six grandchildren, with two still on the way!

In the 56 years I have lived, twenty nine were lived in darkness; that is even though I was alive, I was spiritually dead. It was when my fifth child was born that I gave my life to Christ and thus began twenty seven years of life in the light of the Lord.

The first change that came about was a hunger to know God. That is when I was drawn to His Word, the Bible. I was surprised at what the Bible contains. The more I read, the more I hungered to know and the more I read, the more I realized my need to be closer to God and know and grow.

That is where KYB comes in. I believe God saw my desire and He met me by allowing KYB to be studied where I live. Since then KYB has been the best thing for me. I am thankful to God for the past 22 years of studying His Word. I am thankful to those who prepare the studies. Knowing God's Word has been a pillar of strength through difficult times, especially when I was bringing up my children. I owe it to God also for the steadfastness of my family and for their growth today. Without God's Word we would have been like any other troubled family out there.

In studying with KYB I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned how to grow in the Lord. I have learned to walk and talk with Him. I have also learned that the people in the Bible were real people like us today. Their experiences have helped us to see how God deals with us today. I can say that the Bible is the best book to read, and KYB is the study that helps you to grow in the knowledge of it. KYB is a must, it helped me to know my Bible and it will help you too.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come."

ROSIE & MILLY BOOM BLESS US WITH SONG

What a special blessing and benediction on the Fiji tour to be joined by Rosie Boom and her daughter Milly (13) as they came along and shared in message and song together with us!

We were thrilled when Rosie asked if there was anything that they could do to join with us during the team visit. They were able to share in Sigatoka, Lautoka and at the weekend women's retreat at Sabeto Valley, near Nadi. It was a time of mutual blessing and I am sure one that none of us will forget.

We pray that both Rosie and Milly will be blessed for their generous gift of time to us and that they in turn were blessed by hearing the testimonies of those women who are so keen and alive in the Lord.

Netta Gives Her Heart to The Lord

The theme for the meeting was, "When Life Gives You Lemons". We arrived in good time to greet the ladies and spend time talking with them. We noticed one lady was bowed in prayer along with another lady. There were a lot of tears and yet there was a peace. Netta had been brought along to the meeting by a friend and while talking with her, one of the ladies recognized the prompting to share the gospel with her. Netta had a great need in her life and that morning she responded to the Saviour's words, "If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28.

Netta's life has given her a lot of 'lemons'. She was the fifth child of 11. Considered the dumb one, teased and taunted with cruelty and unkindness, she ran away from home when she was 14. On the streets Netta was raped and soon she was with child. Prostitution was the only way for her to survive and so she lived for the days when she could go on the boats and be with the locals. Drink and drugs began to take over her life and in her words she was raped "millions of times". The only way to survive as she lived on the streets was to steal. The guilt of stealing from her employer and then her own daughter, lives like a nightmare in her mind.

Netta now lives in an institution. She is the mother of four to four different fathers, and there are now eight grandchildren. Sadly her family does not want to know her and when she tries to visit them, they turn her away. Suicide has been foremost in her thoughts.

But praise the Lord for Nirmala who invited Netta to the meeting. Nirmala lives in the institution with Netta and is involved in a KYB group. The next day after the 'When life gives you lemons' meeting they were at the Power of Prayer meeting. I so wish you could have heard Netta crying to the Lord, "Thank you Jesus for forgiving me, thank you Jesus!" I wish you could have seen the peace in her face as she joined in the worship and prayer. I wish you could have seen the smile of thankfulness as we handed her a Bible.

Do pray for Netta, she has a hard road ahead, but with the Lord's help, the help of her new friends and your prayers, she will know she has made the best choice in her life.
