FIJI OUTREACH TOUR 14 - 23 MAY 2010
The Launching of Ruth and James in Fijian

Elenoa Bale's Story....

"The dream of putting the translated studies into the hands of our people who need it is finally happening and I Praise God for that!"

Elenoa and her late husband were living on the island of Levuka (Fiji) in 1987, when she had to have major surgery. The problem continued and the Ministry of Education moved her to Suva where she could be near her doctor. Elenoa says, "I did not know if I was going to live as a diagnosis could not be made". But as she looks back she realised in healing her God wanted to use her for His kingdom.

While in Suva she picked up a KYB book that belonged to her sister who was a member of a youth group who were doing the studies. Immediately taken by the book, it lead to the introduction of KYB Studies in Levuka in1989. Elenoa led a KYB group for 11 years before she went to America in the year 2000.

Elenoa saw how some of the women in my group, especially those who lacked high school education, struggled with the studies. They loved it but the language limited their understanding. As a language teacher I was able to guide and assist them. This problem however with the English language was raised during group discussions at the CWCI camps on the Coral Coast. Later, when the Fiji CWCI Board was formed, Elenoa became a member and it was an issue that they tried to address.

Missing the special bond that came with studying with the Word through KYB, it was a joy for Elenoa to meet friend who was also on the Board with her in Fiji. Along with 3 others who had also been in KYB groups in Fiji they were able to form a study group.

Starting in Ruth, one of the members decided they should try and translate Ruth into Fijian as a project. Elenoa was so excited and loved working on the translation. In doing so she learned so much about herself. Going through a dark time in her life with her marriage failing she felt daily energised with God's power and His peace as she worked on the translation. The study went well. But when it came to James that was a struggle as the group fell apart due to work commitments. Elenoa though was determined to complete James.

Elenoa began praying for a Christian sister to continue the translation work with her. In 2008 her prayers were answered through a former school mate, Silina, who lives in Washington DC. Elenoa sent her a copy of the study of Mark Pt 1. Silina came over to California and spent 2 months working on the translation of Mark Part 1. There have been some frustrations regarding the vetting of the studies, so the study has yet to be published.
Do pray for Elenoa and Silina as they continue this vital work for the women of Fiji.

We are so thankful for the prayers for the CWCI Team - Gill Crampton, Lorraine Harvey and Sue Reeve, along with Rosie and Milly Boom, during their recent trip to Fiji to share with the KYB Groups and women there - the Lord enabled us to share and minister to many groups and we were truly blessed as we heard many testimonies of how lives have been impacted by reading God's Word through the use of KYB studies.
